The field of geography has been evolving from its technical period back to its classic identity as the integrated study of lands and peoples. This approach encompasses such multi-dimensional phemonena as mass migrations, degradation of agriculture, disappearance of coastal cities, and the relationship of indigenous with mobile peoples. As our awareness of consequences grows stronger, we start to ask what tangible steps can we take to ensure a better world for ourselves, future generations, and every living being that inhabits this remarkable sphere?
